The Baltimore City Council plans to hold an investigative hearing on the wellbeing of Baltimore's transgender community virtually on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
This is an opportunity for the Council to hear directly from City agencies, stakeholders and residents about the state of City services and initiatives for the trans community, as well as barriers to health, safety and prosperity for trans residents. Baltimore City LGBTQ Affairs in the Office of the Mayor is interested in organizing a strong community response. To prepare for the hearing, we invite you to participate in a pre-meeting roundtable. This pre-meeting will be an attempt to reach consensus about what needs to be addressed, and how. We will host space to hear from transgender residents only, and additional space to hear from service providers. Trans residents are invited to participate in both. We define 'service provider' as any individual, organization or agency regularly working on improving outcomes for people who are trans.
